(Yesterday)
The lightening was going strong at 1am. It was still going at 5am, with a little thunder thrown in. And around 6, the rain came pouring down. It was pouring so hard that as I was driving to town to go to the grocery store, I was having to go only 30 to 40 mph in order to be able to see out the windshield. Thankfully, my friend Leslie called me while we were still on our way into town and invited us to her house since our park plans were obviously canceled now.
We played at her house for a while and then headed to the grocery store. The rain was still coming down, but much more gently than it was earlier. And it was still coming down when we got back home.
I am so grateful that I get to stay home with my kids now. That means that when we have a rainy day...with no lightening and thunder, that I can say yes when Samantha asks to play outside in the rain. And of course I can document the event in pictures.

Now, here is the part that should not surprise anyone who knows my daughter. As the sun came out, the boots came off.
And became buckets for rocks and mud.

I love her boots! It looks like she had a lot of fun in the rain.
